Our sewing courses are centered around learning basic and important sewing skills that will allow students to approach a variety of projects from decor to fashion. Our focus on heritage and folk crafts means we will be pulling ideas from vintage sewing patterns, traditional craftwork, and using vintage fabrics and trims. Sewing Studio for Ages 7-11 is meant for our younger audience that has never sewn before. Students will learn: • Basic sewing techniques and terminology • Hand and machine stitching, seam finishes, appliqué and trim application • The confidence to sew and create projects independently! Syllabus: Week 1-2: Hand sewing Week 3: Machine Sewing 101 Week 4: Design plushies Week 5: Sew your own Plushie Pt. 1 Week 6: Sew your own Plushie Pt. 2 Fabric and supplies: a selection of hand-picked fabrics and notions are included. Class Schedule
Cancellation Policy
In the event that a student must cancel a class registration, Craft Society must be notified in writing for the student to be eligible for a refund or credit of class fees. If notice of cancellation is provided fourteen (14) business or more days prior to the start of the the semester, the student will be refunded 50% of their class fees or have a credit for the full amount. If notice of cancellation is provided five (5) to seven (7) business days prior to the class start date, the student will receive a credit for the full amount. If notice of cancellation is provided in four (4) or less business days prior to the class start date, no fees or credit will be refunded to the student. As we are a small team, there will be no exceptions to our policy. Make-Up Class Policy Students who fail to show up for a class forfeit any right to a refund. Students have a maximum of 2 make up classes a semester during our open studio hours. This policy is to ensure that the instructors are compensated for their time and other students waiting for spots in full classes are not missing class opportunities due to late cancellations or no shows.
