Playful Mending- Darning

We will be mending clothes with darning- adding to the story of the garment. Inspired by folk motifs and traditional stitchery using scrap fabric. Guests are encouraged to bring well-loved items to mend, and scrap fabrics will be provided.

Led by Lucy, who is a mender and embroiderer inspired by Scandinavian folk embroidery and stitchery. She sources discarded fabrics and other materials locally to use to give pieces a new life.

Craft Society is a creative duo aiming to make folk and heritage craftwork accessible to young New Yorkers. We host weekly workshops for friends and strangers to come together and create.
