Making Eggshell Concrete

In this class, we will be teaching you how to turn leftover eggshells into objects like mahjong tiles, bowls, keychains, candle holders, jewelry, and whatever else your heart desires.

Time & Location

Jul 08, 2026, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Craft Society, 569 Union St, Brooklyn, NY 11215, USA

About the event

During the workshop, participants will get an introduction to biomaterials, learn about eggshells, calcium powder and it's transformation into concrete. They will be able to create their own objects with powder approximately worth 300 eggshells (enough to make one large item, like a bowl, and a few small items, like a mahjong tile or keychains). We will also have a ~30 minute break in between drying time for snacks from local bakeries that we grab our eggshells from!

This workshop will take place in the backyard, weather permitting. If event needs to be rescheduled due to weather, we will announce that via email 1-2 days prior.
