Large Hearth Brooms

Learn the steps of creating your own Shaker Broom from weaving the handle of the broomcorn to sewing the end of your broom in the Craft Society backyard. We will have all materials necessary but if you find a tree branch you'd like to use as your handle- feel free to bring it! Minimum diameter of 1inch and comfortable length to use as a handle. This workshop is quite strenuous and requires full body involvement so please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Craft Society is a creative duo aiming to make folk and heritage craftwork accessible to young New Yorkers. We host weekly workshops for friends and strangers to come together and create.
