About the event
The craft of embroidery, decorative stitch designs on textiles, dates back more than 30,000 years, often used as a status symbol and until recently, was always done by hand. It was not until the 1800s that embroidery was democratized with the invention of machine sewing. This workshop will focus on the basics of hand embroidery including the necessary stitches to create images and letterforms.
