About the event

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the art of making hand-dipped beeswax candles. Working with naturally soft, malleable beeswax, guests will shape and build their candles in a process that feels both creative and tactile, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that are as sculptural as they are functional.

I’m Zoe Nochlin, a Brooklyn-based candle maker specializing in hand-dipped beeswax candles. Because beeswax is naturally soft and malleable, I approach candle making as a sculptural process — shaping each piece by hand so it feels as much like an art form as it does a functional object.

Craft Society is a creative duo aiming to make folk and heritage craftwork accessible to young New Yorkers. We host weekly workshops for friends and strangers to come together and create.
